COOS BAY, Ore. -- The Coos Bay Swing Span Bridge is now fully cleared for maritime navigation after a temporary closure.

Last Friday, the bridge failed to complete its rotation to return for river navigation.

Crews worked on the problem for a few days and on Monday maritime traffic south of the bridge resumed.

However, rail traffic is still on hold.

The Port of Coos Bay says they're currently working with rail customers to come up with an alternative site to deliver their products.

"We've been working with Jordan Cove," said Port of Coos Bay CEO john Burns. "We've secured an area out on the North Spit that will be able to accomplish that. Hopefully, we'll get that up and running early next week."

The Port is developing a repair plan to return the bridge to freight rail service as quickly as possible.
