COOS BAY, Ore. -- The City of Coos Bay authorized Benny Hempstead Excavating Inc. to perform an emergency storm sewer line replacement project located near the intersection of Newmark Avenue and Ocean Blvd, the City said Friday.

Work will begin the week of December 18th to replace this failed line.

Construction hours will occur from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

There should be minimal traffic impacts as the work is on private property and not in the street, officials said.

The east entrance of the Nancy Devereux Center will be closed.

Drivers and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution within the construction zone.

Any questions can be directed to the City of Coos Bay Public Works Department at (541) 269-1181 extension 2249.
