OSP: Wash. men had 45 pounds of pot, hash in car

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- Two Washington men are behind bars after troopers say they found 45 pounds of pot and a quarter pound of hash during a traffic stop.

State police say that thursday at about 11:00 pm, a trooper stopped a Saturn station wagon northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 32 for speeding.

The vehicle was being driven by Ryan A. Longley, 23, of Lake Tapps, Washington, and his passenger was identified as Coty S. Hammond, 22, of Spanaway, Washington, officials said.

State police say that during an investiation, they discovered the marijuana and hash hidden in trash bags inside the car.

Authorities say the drugs were worth over $110,000.

Hammond and Longley were both lodged in the Jackson County Jail and charged by troopers with Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Marijuana.
