Lane County Sheriff's Office makes number of arrests in McKenzie Bridge area

LANE COUNTY, Ore. - Over the last 11 days, the Lane County Sheriff's Office issued six different arrests after the assignment of extra patrols to the McKenzie Bridge community due to the fire activity.

Deputies used available time to follow up on previously reported crimes that occurred prior to the fire activity.

The investigation resulted in recovering stolen property and several arrests being made, some of which were made for new charges in addition to outstanding warrants. Some of the investigations are still ongoing and involve suspects who are cooperating with deputies.

The following arrests were made during the course of investigations:

Cortney Anne Boone, 33 from Springfield, was arrested on a warrant for Child Neglect II on 9/8/17.

Justin Matthew Smith, 28 from Vida, was taken into custody for Theft by Receiving and warrants for Elude and Parole Violation on 9/8/17. A previously reported stolen bicycle valued at $2,500 was recovered during the arrest. The bicycle had been taken from a McKenzie area resort.

Amanda Leerose Emlay, 26 from Vida, was arrested for parole violations on Robbery and Unlawful use of a vehicle on 9/9/17.

Brian Lynn Edwards, 45 from Eugene, was arrested for a failure to appear on a DUII warrant on 9/10/17.

Whitney Storm Taylor, 26 from Eugene, was arrested for a probation violation warrant regarding possession of methamphetamine on 9/11/17.

David Garcia, 36 from Blue River, was found hiding in a garage and arrested for Burglary I, three counts of Theft I - firearms. Garcia received a superficial injury during his arrest when he was apprehended with the assistance of an LCSO K-9.
