NORTH BEND, Ore. -- It's out with old and in with the new.

You may not recognize the now empty space at the Liberty Theatre in North Bend as the home of the Little Theatre on the Bay removed all of its vintage seating first installed in 1924.

Brand new chairs will be installed next year to accommodate more people.

“The last time the seats were re-covered was in the mid-1980s I believe, and people want more leg room and they want softer seats and they want cup holders, and we're just going to accommodate everybody,” explained theater restoration committee member Jeanne Woods.

The new chairs will be installed next month.

The theater will also have more handicap accessible seating.

The vintage chairs are now for sale for $20 each.
