Nicholas McGuffin files civil rights suit after having 9-year prison sentence overturned

Nicholas McGuffin has maintained his innocence in the death of Leah Freeman, who was 15 when she disappeared from her hometown of Coquille, Oregon, in 2000. Her body was found in the woods five weeks later. In 2011, a jury voted 10-2 to convict him of manslaughter in Freeman's death. A judge has overturned the conviction. (File)
