COOS BAY, Ore. - The Oregon Department of Transportation wants to hear from the public about ways to improve the Oregon Coast Bike Route.
Some 6,000 people ride the route each year. Designated in the early 1980s, the route attracts tourists from all over the world.
The public can take part in an Online Open House through January 31, 2019, on the route.
"People can access that and help us recognize whether or not we've identified critical needs that are most important to the route," said Jenna Marmon, active transportation liason for ODOT. "We know there are lots of sections that are challenging."
The survey will help provide input on widening roads, adding lights and signs, and other traffic improvements.
