MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A traffic stop on Interstate 5 resulted in the arrest of two women, one with a warrant out of Arizona.

According to Myrtle Creek Police, an officer spotted the suspect vehicle, a 2008 Mitsubishi sedan, at the N. Main Mini Mart in Myrtle Creek.

The officer followed the vehicle after it left and was informed one of the women had an active felony parole warrant out of Arizona.

The officer stopped the car on I-5 at milepost 112.

Police say Arizona authorities indicated they wanted 37-year-old Danielle Nicole Smith, of Prescott, so she was taken into custody, the report said.

Douglas Interagency narcotics Team responded with a K9 officer, which alerted to drugs in the vehicle.

Police say they located syringes and a small amount of meth inside a purse.

"A point of heroin was located inside a backpack," the report said.

Smith was lodged at Douglas County Corrections on the felony warrant while 29-year-old Jennifer Jean Marshall of Winston was cited and released from the jail on the drug charges related to meth and heroin.
