Police: Coos bay man arrested after striking woman; charged with assault, drug possession

COOS BAY, Ore. -- A Coos Bay teenager was arrested after police say he reportedly struck a woman during an altercation, Coos County Sheriff's Office reports.

Just after 8 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a call of a physical fight at 63762 City View Drive in Coos Bay.

Police say it was alleged 18-year-old Deion Dyson of Coos Bay struck a 35-year-old woman at the location and fled on foot armed with a reported BB gun stuck in his waist band.

The dispute was over property belonging to Dyson kept at the address, the report said.

The female received a laceration to her lip and refused medical treatment, police said.

Around 10:30 a.m., Dyson was located at a local fast food restaurant in Coos Bay, which he is employed at where he was taken into custody without incident.

Police say Dyson was in possession of approximately 20 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, a schedule I controlled substance.

He was transported to the Coos County Jail and later released on his own recognizance, the report said.

He was charged with Assault IV, PCS Schedule I.
