ROSEBURG, Ore. - The Roseburg Library's last day of operation is Wednesday, May 31.

Douglas County's libraries have closed down due to a lack of funding. Voters rejected a funding levy in November.

One exception is Reedsport, where the city and volunteers are taking over the library. Volunteers in Sutherlin are working to maintain some library services there, too.

And Umpqua Community College has invited the public to learn more about the "community card" option for Douglas County residents.

At the Roseburg branch of the Douglas County library system, however, May 31 is the last day to return checked out books in person.

The book drop will be open until June 15.

After that date, borrowers with outstanding book loans will be fined.
