ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A man from Roseburg is under arrest after he reportedly threatened to shoot Roseburg Police officers, authorities said.

According to Douglas County Sheriff's Office, 62-year-old Steven Standley stole a pickup truck along with a shotgun on Monday.

They say the 9-1-1 caller heard Stanley say he wanted to shoot the officers, but Stanley then returned the pickup and the shotgun and got a ride from a neighbor.

Stanley is facing charges that include the unlawful use of a motor vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

"The officers and deputies exercise caution every day that they're out on patrol,” said Douglas County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brad O’Dell, “and so we're aware of it. We're taking that into consideration and we'll just be careful."

Deputies say they don't know why Stanley threatened Roseburg Police.
