COOS BAY, Ore. -- Students new to Southwestern Oregon Community College were on campus Friday for orientation.

They had a chance to make their way around the school’s campus and visit with other new students.

Enrollment increased this year at SWOCC, officials said.

They say they're expecting 380 new students compared to 340 last year.

"We're excited the students came in with a lot of energy (Thursday),” said student life coordinator Kyle Croy. “We're excited with our numbers. We think it's going to be a great year…many more activities going on and we hope to keep activities up all year to keep students engaged outside of the classroom."
