The restoration committee of Historic liberty theatre make further progress on their multi-phased project.
New doors were recently installed thanks to a grant from the Coquille Indian tribe community. Aymee Pedder, committee member, called it a beautiful display for the theatre and the community.
The extra affect is the door handles.
Specifically the backplates that Gordon Reid thought should be special and resemble the architecture.
He submitted a drawing to historic preservation consultant, George Kramer.
Kramer is passionate about restoring theatres, and has worked on Coos Bay’s Egyptian theatre.
“The show starts on the sidewalk” is his motto for renewing and restoring this piece of history.
