A case of reckless boating was caught on camera in August and now the three people forced to jump overboard are suing the driver who plowed into them.

The incident happened in August 2017 near the mouth of the Columbia River.

No one was injured, but the boat was badly damaged by the other boat driver.

The driver who collided with the boat has been identified as Marlin Larsen, 75.

He told police he was sitting down at the time and couldn’t see where he was going.

Larsen is facing a nearly $400,000 civil suit and a number of criminal charges.

Salmon Trout Steelheader, the magazine sharing the video of the crash, is running a contest on their Facebook page to spread safety awareness about boating.
