    DURKEE, Ore. - A truck hauling hay went up in flames Tuesday in Eastern Oregon east of Baker City, closing a lengthy stretch of Interstate 84.

    There's no word yet on the cause of the fire or the condition or identity of the driver.

    ODOT later extended the closure almost all the way to Pendleton, about 109 miles west of the fire itself.

    That's not uncommon when fire or snow impacts I-84 in northeastern Oregon, where communities with services for travelers are few and far between.

    In 2015, wildfires in the area closed a 170-mile stretch of I-84.
