State Police: Search for missing skier ends, found alive in California

WILMINGTON, NY (WRGB) State Police say the missing Toronto man, who triggered an almost weeklong search of a ski resort, has been found alive - in California.

State Police say Constantinos “Danny” Filippidis made contact with local authorities in Sacramento, California.

49-year-old Filippidis was reported missing at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, last seen at the Whiteface Mountain Ski resort’s mid-station between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., according to State Police.

State Police say they are investigating how he disappeared, then ended up in California.
