Photos: Woman saves baby dolphin in Ireland
This is the amazing moment a woman rescues a baby dolphin stranded on a beach.
Jenni Hänninen, originally from Finland, was out horseriding with friends on Seapoint Beach in Termonfeckin, Ireland when she spotted the stricken mammal.
Quick-thinking Jenni, an account manager for finance company PFS in nearby Navan, gently picked up the dolphin and waded into waters deep enough to release it.
Piperstown Equestrian stable worker Darren Cannell captured the action on 30 June 2018 as the riding group stopped for the kind-hearted action.
Jenni told independent.ie: "When I was younger I might have saved a couple of birds but nothing like this. I didn’t even know they existed on the east coast."
A spokesperson for Piperstown Equestrian commented: "Not only is Jenni one of our top riders in the yard, also turns out she's a cracking life guard, it must be the 'Fin'-ish in her."
