HAPPY VALLEY, Ore. - Some shot and killed 8 Canada geese and left them to waste in Clackamas County, Oregon State Police said.

A bald eagle took one of the carcasses. The others will be donated to charity.

Fish and game troopers received a report Thursday about geese shot in a field in the Happy Valley area.

"Troopers arrived and found eight geese in the field," state police said Monday. "A bald eagle flew down and took one of the geese. The remaining seven geese were salvaged and taken to Shy Ann Meats & Sausage Co. and will be donated to charity."

Police said a blue pickup truck might be associated with the suspects but did not have a license plate number.
