CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN, Wash. - Crystal Mountain Resort will open Wednesday with three ski lifts operating.

Crytal Mountain managers announced the Discovery, Chinook Express and Forest Queen Express lifts will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lift tickets will be $45.

The upper lifts will open after more snow falls - possibly by Friday.

"Unfortunately the strong winds have blown all the snow off the upper ridges and we still need more snow to open the upper lifts," the resort posted on its website. "We’re hoping to have Rainier Express, Green Valley and the Mt. Rainer Gondola open by Friday (conditions permitting)."

Rentals will be available. The Cascade Grill and Chinook Cafe will be open starting at 7 a.m. for breakfast and coffee. The Bullwheel will open at 10:30 a.m. for lunch and a full bar. Campbell Basin Lodge will be open for access to restrooms only.

The opening comes about 10 days earler than last year's Nov. 25 opening.
