COOS BAY, Ore. - Forecasters in Portland and Medford warn that ocean conditions will be dangerous through Wednesday.

The National Weather Service issued Gale Warnings, Small Craft Advisories and Hazardous Sea Watches for various portions of the Oregon Coast.

"High seas and strong winds are expected to develop this evening," forecasters said Tuesday. "Exercise CAUTION along beaches and jetties as unpredictable and destructive waves can wash over with no warning."

Forecasters said boaters might want to change their plans - or get in off the ocean.

"Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels," forecasters said. "It is highly recommended that mariners without proper experience seek safe harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions."
