ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Following the long standing tradition of Douglas County Commissioners’ involvement in the Association of Oregon & California Land Grant Counties (O&C), Commissioner Tim Freeman was unanimously elected as President of the Association of O&C Counties at their annual meeting held on December 2 in Eugene, county officials said.

"We will work with the new administration and the new agency people to see how much harvest can be done within the current statutory language and how, within the four corners of the current law, we can increase harvest and revenues," Freeman said.

Commissioner Freeman previously served on the executive board as the Secretary/Treasurer.

"Being elected to this position allows Commissioner Freeman and Douglas County to continue the leadership role in finding solutions to manage the O&C lands," Douglas County officials said in a news release. "This issue is of the very highest priority, and without solutions to manage O&C lands, services to the citizens of Douglas County will be further diminished."
