2 children seriously injured when struck by car in Seattle
SEATTLE -- Two young girls were seriously injured when they were struck by a car south Seattle Thursday.
The accident happened just before 1:30 p.m. at Rainier Ave. South and S. Henderson Street, Seattle Fire officials said.
Police say a 9- and 11-year-old girl were in a crosswalk heading across Henderson when they were struck by the car. Witnesses heard screams and ran for help.
Medics arrived and rushed the girls to Harborview Medical Center. One girl was listed in critical condition, while the other is in serious condition, fire officials said.
Police haven't said yet what led up to the crash.
