High School Football Preview 2017: Harrisburg Eagles

Harrisburg, Ore. - After winning the 3A state championship in 2016, Harrisburg lost their head coach Scott Phelps, star quarterback Tel Jones and star running back Hunter Knox. In steps new head coach Edmund Rivera, who played football at Oregon under Rich Brooks in the '80s and has been in the coaching profession since his college graduation. After stints at Harrisburg, North Eugene and most recently Marist, Rivera is back with the Eagles, this time as their head coach. He brings tremendous energy and a new look offense to Harrisburg in hopes of repeating as state champions.

When asked about the challenge of repeating despite losing star players like Jones and Knox, Rivera replied simply:

"Rosters change, expectations don't."
